EARS is a Radio Sales Representation founded in 2019 in Uganda. It was initiated by Uganda Radio Network (URN), Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT); Germany’s largest media NGO and Florian Ruckert the former CEO of RMS, Europe’s largest Radio Sales Representation. URN has served the radio industry in Uganda for 17 years whereas MiCT has been supporting radio in Africa, Middle East and Asia since 2006.
The initiative was funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to strengthen independent radios in East Africa
Since the digital migration process in 2015, The Kenya Media landscape saw an increase of consumption through the usage of mobile phones and data services in accessing Radio, TV and print content.
